Bringing the community together to work towards a common goal.

What does this skill involve?

Activities may include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing outreach messages
  • Delivering a message to the community using different channels
  • Conducting door-to-door outreach activities
  • Delivering speeches in public gatherings
  • Delivering information through digital means
  • Collaboration with partners including the local administration for mobilisation activities

Skill levels

Level 1 - Follow

Contributes to community mobilisation by following instructions provided. Delivers a provided message directly to the target community. Uses provided equipment to deliver information.

Level 2 - Assist

Assist in identification of target communities. Communicates informally with local community leadership. Executes small scale mobilisation activities.

Level 3 - Apply

Takes the initiative to mobilise the community around emerging situations.

Level 4 - Enable

Finds innovative ways to approach community mobilisation. Communicates formally with partners including local administration officials. Facilitates collaboration in mobilising the community for a common goal.

Level 5 - Ensure, Advise

Facilitates high-level communication with a wide range of partners for issues that need a good range of collaboration. Builds a good relationship with most of the community influencers. Applies, facilitates and develops creative thinking concepts and finds innovative ways to approach complex situations.

Level 6 - Initiate, Influence

Coordinates wider-scale community initiatives. Uses communication tools and media platforms for community mobilisation.

Level 7 - Set strategy, Inspire, Mobilise

Ensures adequate funding for community mobilisation activities.
