Skill levels
Level 1 - Follow
Follows instructions regarding fertiliser application so as to apply the correct type and quantities at the appropriate time. Handles fertilisers according to the instructions provided.
Level 2 - Assist
Understands the basics in fertilisers use techniques. Able to read and understand basic product labels. Able to calibrate fertiliser applications so the correct amount of product is delivered appropriately.
Level 3 - Apply
Demonstrates substantial knowledge in fertiliser use and management. Communicates a need for fertiliser procurement. Applies fertilisers appropriately according to recommended doses and user guide.
Level 4 - Enable
Demonstrates expertise in fertiliser use with a good experience of on-farm practices. Contributes to capacity building and awareness in regards to fertiliser use and management. Prepares appropriate facilities to store and manage fertilisers to keep their quality and standards.
Level 5 - Ensure, Advise
Ensures that fertiliser good practices are applied effectively. Prepares fertiliser user guides. Provides guidance on the use of fertiliser management equipment.
Level 6 - Initiate, Influence
Influences regulations, strategies and policies regarding the fertiliser industry and value chain. Leads the development of relevant industry partnerships. Thinks strategically to bring new concepts and ideas related to strengthening the fertiliser value chain. Participates and contributes in setting standards, regulations and licensing procedures for fertilisers dealers. Works with the fertiliser business ecosystem to determine approved fertilisers according to standards and regulations for economic and environmental outcomes.
Level 7 - Set strategy, Inspire, Mobilise
Works on a wide scale to lead on fertiliser strategies, policies, infrastructure and monitoring.
