Skill levels
Level 1 - Follow
Follows instructions to plant correct seeds quantities at the appropriate cropping time.
Level 2 - Assist
Performs simple calculations to identify quantity requirements. Handles and plants seeds under instruction but without supervision. Reads and understands basic product labels and demonstrates basic knowledge in good seed management.
Level 3 - Apply
Orders new seeds, selecting appropriately from a range of varieties. Plants seeds appropriately and without supervision according to recommended rate and density.
Level 4 - Enable
Takes a lead in transporting, handling, storing and using seeds correctly. Is able to produce seed safely. Appropriately stores and manages seeds to keep their quality and standards. Provides technical consultancy to seed producers. Provides technical reports and documentation on seed production.
Level 5 - Ensure, Advise
Evaluates seed producers and dealers for compliance with regulations and quality standards. Studies and analyses seed production reports and proposes recommendations to seed users. Prepares seed information and user guides.
Level 6 - Initiate, Influence
Works with the seed industry to set standards for seed producers and merchants. Provides a list of approved seed varieties. Influences strategies and policies regarding the development of the seed industry.
Level 7 - Set strategy, Inspire, Mobilise
Leads at a wide scale to set policy, define regulations and ensure supply regarding seeds and their production.
